The State Theatre and the City of Modesto will again sponsor the Modesto Holiday Parade. The parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 7, 2002. Last year there were over 18,000 people in attendance with even more expected to attend this year.

The TROGS will be entering the parade for the third consecutive year. We are hoping to get a large turn out of TROGS to participate this year. The parade begins at 5:00 PM on Saturday, but our place in the staging order has not yet been determined. In years past, the staging area has been by the downtown Modesto library.  If you plan to participate try to be there early so that we can get an idea of the number of riders we have.

REMEMBER: THIS IS A RAIN OR SHINE EVENT!!!! (It's only water)

As always, decorate your bike with lights, (the more the better). According to the parade rules there cannot be any Santa costumes or Santas except on the official Santa float which is not us. The theme for this year is It's A Wonderful Life.  The old Jimmy Stewart Christmas movie... remember?

We are asking everyone to donate $10.00 per person / $20.00 per family to help defray the cost of the entry fee. With any remaining money we are planning to have a cash prize for the Best Decorated Bike, and if there is enough money left we would like to have a raffle and give away some great swag too. If you are planning to ride on Thanksgiving, (that's a rain or shine event also), try to remember your donation so it will give us enough time to organize the prizes. You can pay on the night of the parade, but it's much easier if you pay in advance.

After the parade we are planning to go to a local pizza parlor where we can enjoy the warmth and camaraderie of friends. . . hoist a glass. . . and offer a toast to the best ride ever!

If you any questions call Roger (Wrong Way) at (209) 578-6745, or you can call Dennis (Trogg) at (209) 667-7442.

See ya there, Rain or shine
