Bruce and I headed up to New Melones on Friday after work for a weekend of camping. I was spoiled to say the least to camp in the palatial RV that we called home for 2 nights! I was a little bothered with the lack of central heating on the first night! But we found the problem. Ahhhhh. Now this is camping!! Perfect weather conditions for cycling activity. Trails were just right loads of traction and fast. It was good to see the fellow TROGS that turned up for the race. Lots of fun and camaraderie. This is no doubt the best time of year to be at New Melones. Every shade of green is seen up there right now. Very easy on the eyes. We came we saw and the Mountain Bike Gods granted me a 3rd place in my
class. I think Joe finished 2nd, he was in front of me. Good fun for
all. 8 Trogs all finished what we started. Over all perfect weather and
traction for a day in the hills.                                          - Joseph C.

Perfect weather and trail conditions. I really enjoyed
the courtesy and humor of the racers on the course. I was seriously
considering shaving off my white whiskers when I realized that they
probably saved me from the heckling spectators at the creek
jumps. The encouraging words from fellow TROGS  made it the best ride ever.                                                                  - Fred
